RegEditX

The registry is the heart of the Windows operating system and modifying it can solve a lot of software problems and also allows customizing the parameters of programs and the way they work. The problem is that, even though the Windows registry tool includes some basic options, these are not enough for the majority of users. This is where RegEditX comes in and tries to fill the gaps left behind by the default Windows registry tool.

The program is very simple to install and requires only a few clicks for completing this process. It supports virtually any version of the Windows operating system, including XP and Windows 7. It takes up about 5 MB of hard disk space.

The interface of RegEditX is pretty much identical to the one of the default Windows registry editor, but adds some more features. Having a similar interface means that beginners will need less time to get familiar with the software. One of them is the registry crawler, which is actually an improved version of the Find function found in the Windows registry editor. This feature can scan for values, keys and data using various searching methods. Thus, one can easily and quickly find a certain information.

Another feature of RegEditX is the possibility to connect to the registry of a network computer and to perform actions on it just like sitting in front of that computer. The software includes a web update feature which allows to automatically update itself at certain intervals of time.
